Behind the Collective

the calling

At the center of everything is a simple belief: do the human things well.

Courtney Davis, MBA, CPCU, ARM, is the founder of Empower Moves Collective™.

Long before The Collective had a name, this was already happening. Courtney Davis, MBA, CPCU, ARM, has been mentoring professionals, making herself available, and using her voice to open doors for others. Informally, consistently, and without hesitation. She was also speaking and facilitating on the very ideas that would become the foundation of this work, and the response was resounding. When she graduated Executive MBA program, she was named most likely to become a motivational speaker. At the time she smiled. Now she understands why.

For Courtney, that means seeing the individual, not just the role, the status, or the moment, and approaching people with the same respect, awareness, and care she would want in return.

That is what she brings into every coaching session, every keynote stage, and every room she facilitates. It has never been separate from who she is. It has always been the heart of it.

the experience

For nearly two decades, Courtney has built her career in the insurance and education industry. Throughout her career, she has built high-performing teams, led strategic initiatives, and guided organizations through complexity and change.

Beyond her executive leadership, she has served professional associations, boards, and philanthropic initiatives, bringing together perspectives from multiple sectors and communities.

She also remains committed to continuous learning and development, believing that growth is an ongoing responsibility, not a destination.

She has been recognized across industries for delivering results, advancing bold thinking, and opening doors the doors for others. This recognition reflect years of commitment to helping individuals and organization.

Her honors include Insurance Business America 100 Best Insurance Leaders in the U.S., the URMIA Visionary Award, the University of Chicago Business Diversity Impact Award, RIMS Risk Manager of the Year, Business Insurance Women to Watch, and Risk & Insurance Power Broker.

beyond the collective

Outside of her professional pursuits, Courtney is a proud mother, and that remains one of her greatest sources of perspective and inspiration. She finds grounding in faith, family, travel, and growth, and moves through life with purpose and a commitment to serving others.

"She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue."

Proverbs 31:25–26 (NIV)
